Kix, who has been dividing his time between touring with Brooks & Dunn and hosting the nationally-syndicated American Country Countdown show, will now be able to focus more time on his radio gig, including making plans travel to a different radio affiliate each month. "I'm looking forward to taking our radio show on the road next year and spending more time with the local affiliates that broadcast American Country Countdown each weekend," he says. "This will be a fantastic opportunity to create some unique listener events and have direct contact with devoted Country music fans. The concert series will showcase several of our industry's top names and also introduce some of its rising stars."
In addition to broadcasting from one of the more than 350 stations that air the CMA Award winning show, Kix will also serve as master of ceremonies for concerts in six cities, including San Diego, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
Kix also enjoys spending his limited free time at his own vineyard, Arrington Vineyards, which is nestled on a beautiful piece of land just outside of
Obviously, once you do find something you like, you can buy the wine and then you can go outside and it's really fun to see everyone getting in this competition of who has the biggest table spread. People just bring really elaborate picnics and it's a great alternative instead of going to a restaurant and spending a bunch of money."
Both Kix and Ronnie are already rumored to be working on solo projects

The truth, Miranda Lambert sang in White Liar, comes out a little at a time.
For the first time in history, the Country Music Association rolled out its nominations in a two-day process, and when it was all said and done, the truth is that Miranda had set a new all-time mark. She joined Dierks Bentley to read the finalists in the last five categories Wednesday on ABCs Good Morning America and discovered shed amassed nine nominations in all more than any other female in history.
I never would have even thought I was eligible for nine categories, she told GMA host Robin Roberts. So its unbelievable.
Having picked up five nominations on day one, Mirandas second-day haul put her in the running for Entertainer, Female Vocalist and Album of the Year, the latter category recognizing her CD Revolution. She also scored a nomination with Dierks and Jamey Johnson for Bad Angel, a track from Dierks Up On The Ridge.
The only artist ever to receive more nominations in one year is Alan Jackson, who was on the ballot 10 times in 2002, a year in which he picked up multiple nods for two particular singles: Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning) and Drive (For Daddy Gene). With White Liar and The House At Built Me each appearing among the finalists for Single, Song and Music Video of the Year, Mirandas list of nominations was quite similar to Alans 02 collection. One difference that kept her from 10: She did not write The House That Built Me, so shes not eligible for Song of the Year.
Not that Mirandas complaining. She collected two trophies this year at the Academy of Country Music Awards, and she got engaged to Blake Shelton in May. Thus 2010 has already been a winner for her.
Im gonna start puttin 10 on everything, she said. Its my lucky number, I guess.
Several other acts ended the two-day nominations roll-out with good numbers. Lady Antebellum scored five nods, the Zac Brown Band and Blake finished with four. Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins and Dierks each came away with three. Dierks trio of nominations all came on the second day: Musical Event, for Bad Angel; Male Vocalist; and Album of the Year, for Up On The Ridge.
I think it speaks a lot of the CMA, Dierks said of the album nod. The project folds in several genres that dont typically appear on mainstream country radio, including bluegrass and Americana. That the industry supported that kind of project, he said, means a lot to me.

FROM CMT Trace Adkins' Cowboy's Back in Town meteors into first place this week on the Billboard country albums chart with first-week sales of just under 50,000 copies. This is Adkins' maiden CD for Show Dog-Universal.
As luck would have it, Adkins' equally sky-scraping "Hillbilly Bone" singing partner, Blake Shelton, is also a chart-topper. His "All About Tonight" holds as the No. 1 country song for the second week.
Other albums making their debut are Lady Antebellum's iTunes Session EP (No. 3), Jennette McCurdy Not That Far Away EP (No. 32) and the McClymonts' Chaos and Bright Lights (No. 73).
There are five new songs to cite: Josh Kelley's "Georgia Clay" (No. 50), Carrie Underwood's "Mama's Song" (No. 55), Jamey Johnson's "Playing the Part" (No. 57), Josh Gracin's "Cover Girl" (No. 58) and Dierks Bentley's "Draw Me a Map" (No. 60). Kelley is the older brother of Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley, who is also a co-writer of "Georgia Clay."
Trailing Adkins in the Top 5 albums list are Lady Antebellum's Need You Now (No. 2), Shelton's All About Tonight EP (No. 4) and the Zac Brown Band's The Foundation (No. 5).
The No. 2 through No. 5 songs, in that order, are Keith Urban's "I'm In," Billy Currington's "Pretty Good at Drinkin' Beer," Lee Brice's "Love Like Crazy" and Lady Antebellum's "Our Kind of Love."
And what of Kenny Chesney's "The Boys of Fall," you ask? Well, the team is gaining ground one yard at a time. This week, with teeth bared and sweat cascading like Niagara, it muscles its way from No. 9 to No. 8. The goal posts are in sight.

Big news from Nashville... Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will return as hosts of this year's 45th Annual CMA Awards Show, taking place on Nov. 10
MORE RUMORS!!! David Hasselhoff on Dancing with the Stars. He joins Kirstie Alley, the Situation, Audrina Patridge, Michael Bolton, Jennifer Gray (NOBODY Puts BABY in a corner, TROY AIKMAN, Brandy and Florence Henderson. TROY already said HE WAS NOT-WE FIND OUT MONDAY!!
BLAKE SHELTON is currently riding high with the chart-topping Six Pak album, 'All About Tonight,' and its title cut -- also at No. 1, but the singer is already looking ahead to November when he'll release a greatest hits collection.
"It is a big deal to me," Blake says, "because I always thought that I would have made it if I had a greatest hits album; I would have had some impact if that ever came out. We have accomplished something that the company wants to put out an album with 15 songs on it. I can't believe that 11 years have gone by since I've been doing this."
While Blake has his fair share of hits to choose from, including 'Austin,' 'The Baby' and the recent 'Hillbilly Bone,' one of the songs that won't be on the upcoming compilation is 'The House That Built Me,' which could have been included if Blake hadn't been such a nice guy and let his fiancée Miranda Lambert record it (and take it all the way to No. 1!)
"I look at it that Miranda is my retirement," Blake says with a laugh. "And 'The House That Built Me' is me investing into my retirement. She's like the world's best 401k."
Blake jokes that he may have a new role to play some time in the future. Since Miranda and Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott got together to write 'Suffocating,' a track from 'All About Tonight,' and Blake has Hillary singing on it with him, he reasons that when "[Lady A singer] Charles [Kelley] pisses off the other two, I should be a candidate for the new lead singer of Lady Antebellum. I already have the beard going, too, and I'm tall."
A release date for Blake's greatest hits has yet to be officially announced

Martina McBride is really tickled when she hears younger stars like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift consider her an influence. She tells Parade.com, "It's really flattering. There are people that I looked up to and still look up to when I first got into this business and tried to model my career after, so to hear that from somebody that's just starting is flattering and feels good, feels like I've done something right."
Martina will take part in the Stand Up to Cancer television event that will be broadcast live on four networks on September 10th

When Taylor Swift's new single, "Mine," was leaked, she found herself in unknown territory. She tells MTV.com, "[My manager] said, 'I don't want you to panic.' And I said, 'The song leaked, didn't it?' I turned on my phone and there were texts saying, 'Congratulations.' A leak is so out of my comfort zone, but it ended up good in the end. It made me so emotional that I started crying." "Mine" is from her new album, Speak Now, which comes out on October 25th.

Though a couple of artists had slight bumps in sales, the country album chart is basically a carbon copy of last week. Lady Antebellum's Need You Now posted an 11-percent increase to stay at number-one, and Zac Brown Band hangs at number-two with The Foundation. Jerrod Niemann's Judge Jerrod and the Hung Jury remains at number-three -- a good sign for the newcomer. And rounding out the Top 5 are Miranda Lambert's Revolution and Carrie Underwood's Play On.

Facebook Twitter E-mail Five months after his first "six pak," Hillbilly Bone, country star Blake Shelton returns with his second, All About Tonight, due out Aug. 10. The EP of a half-dozen songs is led by the title-track single, a feel-good foot-stomper co-written by Rhett Atkins, which is already a Top 10 hit on the Billboard country charts.
"All About Tonight has a vibe to it from beginning to end," Shelton says. "The songs make you want to play air guitar. Even the ballads have a more sing-along quality to them."
The disc includes two collaborations with Shelton's fiancée, Miranda Lambert. "Suffocating" is a ballad that Lambert co-wrote with Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott, while the mid-tempo "Draggin' the River" features Lambert on vocals.
"I am extremely excited about the duet with Miranda," says Shelton. "It is the exact type of duet our fans would expect us to do. We sing about being crazy in love and running away."
Another noteworthy tune is the wistful "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking."
"I always wanted a song with a great pick-up line like George Strait's 'The Chair,' " Shelton explains. "Now I have my own."

These days, it often takes five or six months for a country single to reach the Top 20, but Kenny Chesney's "The Boys of Fall" debuted at No. 17 on last week's Billboard chart. It looks like one of his strongest singles yet, and Im sure the song will be played at pro football games, college games, high school games and elementary school games. It's the first single from Kenny's new album, Hemingway's Whiskey, set to be released on Sept. 28.
Paul Worley has a knack for working with trios. If he has the same luck with Stealing Angels, a group he's signed and is producing for his new Skyville Records, as he did with the last all-female trio he signed to a label and produced, we'll be hearing more about it. The last one was the Dixie Chicks. Stealing Angels feature two blondes (Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Wayne) and a brunette (Tayla Lynn). Tayla happens to be the granddaughter of the legendary Loretta Lynn.
Oh, and while Paul didn't sign this other act, he's had quite a bit of success lately co-producing another trio -- Lady Antebellum.

Taylor Swift announced that her new album, Speak Now, will be released Oct. 25. She made the announcement during a web chat in Nashville on Tuesday (July 20). The first single and video is called "Mine," a song that is about "my tendency to run from love," she said during the chat. She shot the video in Maine and told viewers that she'd like to retire there. She also said she wrote all of the songs by herself. More than 45,000 people were tuned into the early part of the webcast, which was available through her website, her Facebook and MySpace pages and UStream.tv.
In fielding questions from fans, Swift said the single will be released in mid August and that the album will probably feature 14 tracks, including "Sparks Fly," a song she's been performing in concert , during her Fearless tour.
Here are some of the highlights from her comments during the webcast:
Her Activities This Summer: My summer has been 99 percent focused on the new record, and then, like, 1 percent focused on the fact that I actually just moved into my first place. I'm officially moved in. I'm so excited. As you know, I've been constantly talking about how I've been antique shopping and nonstop planning and doing construction on this place that is finally finished. It's been really awesome -- just figuring out what it's like to be on your own and cooking. I'm having such a blast with it.
Selecting Title for New Album: That pertains to the album as a concept and as an entire theme of the record -- more than I can even tell you. I've been working on it for two years. Ever since we put out Fearless, I've been writing for this record and conceptualizing it and putting it together in my head as to what I wanted it to be. I like to take a lot of time in between albums to work up the next one and to see what it is. ...
For me, I write everything t, , , , hat I li,, ve, so you've got to give yourself a little bit of time to live a lot of things so you can write about a lot of things. My only option is to write about what I've been through and what I've lived.
Thankfully, in the past two years, I've experienced a lot of things I've been dying to write about and a lot of things I wanted to say, in the moment, that I didn't. You know, in life, you have a lot of situations that pop up, and people that come into your life. Sometimes you don't get to tell them what you wish you'd told them. This album is my opportunity to do that. Track by track, each song is a different confession to a different person.
"Mine," the Album's First Single: It's a song that is about ... my tendency to run from love. It's been sort of a recent tendency. I think it's because that, for me, every really direct example of love that I've had in front of me has ended in goodbye, has ended in breakups. I think I've developed this pattern of sort of running away when it comes time to fall in love and to stay in a relationship. The song is sort of about finding the exception to that and finding someone who would make you believe in love and realize that it could work out. I'm never, ever going to go past hoping that love can work out. I'm always going to be very hopeful and blindly optimistic when it comes to love.
The Video for "Mine": We shot the video in Portland, Maine, which was the most beautiful place I've ever been. It was gorgeous. I loved it. I absolutely fell in love with it. ... I went there and got to spend two or three days just falling in love with it. When I am old and I have silver hair ... I want to live in Maine. I want to have a house and make necklaces or something -- and have a lot of cats. It's a whole fantasy for me.
No Co-Writers on Speak Now: I actually wrote all the songs by myself for this record. I didn't have any co-writers. And it didn't really happen on purpose. It just happened to happen that way. Like, I'd get my best ideas at 3 a.m. in Arkansas. And I wouldn't have a co-writer around, so I would just finish it. Then that would happen again in New York, and then that would happen again in Boston and then that would happen again in Nashville. It just so happened that the songs that made the cut for the album were the ones I wrote by myself. So wish me luck.

We returned to the house with an unknown saboteur loose, and the scientist-lovebirds, Brendon and Rachel, both up for eviction. The two got cozy under covers in the backyard, with the housemates watching from the kitchen.
The Power of Veto competition had a "Cinco de Mayo" theme. Contestants smashed pinatas to release spoiled mayonnaise, and grab letters to create words. Brendon won, and took himself off of the elimination block. Annie was put in his place.
The saboteur showed. A garbled message gave the clue that two of the houseguests are secretly lifelong friends, "and if you think about it, it's actually quite easy to figure out."
We'll get a live elimination tonight.

Kenny Chesney's new song the Boys of the Fall is an ode to high school football or football in general.
The lyrics of the song paint a brilliant picture of the emotions, the smells, the hard work that comes from being part of a football team. It may be a song for adolescents,&nb, sp;, ;but its also one of his most passionate vocal deliveries in years. The , , Boys of Fall says you mess with one, you got us all and it describes small town life in a new and interesting way. In a lot of ways, I can picture a great music video using scenes from Friday Night Lights for this song.
As the theme song for Kennys upcoming documentary film, the song has a great platform from which to become a huge hit. It will also be the lead-off track from Hemingways Whiskey, which is due to be released this fall.
The intro of "He Better Be Dead" instantly makes the track feel like a classic from Reba's deep catalog and then we hear Stealing Angels' vocals kick in and the tune immediately turns into something that feels like a cross between Dolly and Miranda Lambert with a bit of Dixie Chicks thrown in.
Produced by , P, aul Worley, the debut single from Stealing Angels - Caroline Cutbirth, Jennifer Wayne, and Tayla Lynn - is the kind of smoky, moody tune an unknown group needs to get attention at radio. "He Better Be Dead" is a song that is instantly memorable with lyrics about a woman who was instantly smitten with a man she met at a bar the night before. She thought a one night liaison with the man would lead to something more, but instead of it doing that, he won't return her texts and calls.
Like the women in recent songs from Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, "He Better Be Dead" finds Stealing Angels singing the thoughts of the woman, including the worst case (or best case scenarios) about where the man should be after treating her like a plaything the night before. For anyone who has ever felt this way (woman or man) this is a song that will instantly be played on incessant repeat.
Vocally the trio - which has lineage to Daniel Boone, John Wayne and Loretta Lynn - has the attitude required of such a song and more than enough to help the trio get this song - which they co-wrote with Leslie Satcher - not only on the charts but up the charts.

Miranda Lambert's next single is "Only Prettier." She says after "House that Built Me" she needed to sing something fun. "It's very feisty. It's got a little attitude, but it's fun." Miranda invited some of her pretty friends -- namely Kellie Pickler, Hillary Scott and Laura Bell Bundy -- to be in the video. Though the details are under wraps, the plot involves two rival cliques at a high school sock hop.
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton celebrated their engagement with some music business friends on Wednesday night. The party, which was held in an undisclosed location, included karaoke as entertainment. Martina McBride, who was a guest, wrote on Twitter, "Great party! Worth the trip! In a week with debuts on the overall album chart, Lady Antebellum's Need You Now will remain at number one on the country chart and within the Top 10 overall. Sales from CMA Music Festival should give them a bit of a bump along with their pals in the Top 5.
It looks like Zac Brown Band will jump back from four to number two with The Foundation displacing last week's debuts from Dierks Bentley and Jewel. Miranda Lambert's Revolution should re-enter the Top 5 at three after being bumped by debuts as well. Dierks' new project, Up on the Ridge drops to four in its second week leaving a spot for Carrie Underwood's Play On to also re-enter

THURSDAY JUNE 17th
In a last-minute show of strength, Lady Antebellum's Need You Now eked past Dierks Bentley's Up on the Ridge to maintain their hold on the number-one spot on the country album chart. Dierks debuts in second, less than 800 behind Lady A. Jewel's new album, Sweet and Wild, makes a solid debut at number three, while Zac Brown Band's The Foundation drops to number four despite a 26-percent increase from last week. Clay Walker wraps up the Top 5 with the debut of She Won't Be Lonely Long.
Blake Shelton traded in his "Take Six" video feature this week at BlakeShelton.com for a "Top Six" favorite fan photos. The number-one picture, submitted by a fan called "Eyecatcher," reminds us why we love Miranda Lambert so much -- she made him cut the mullet.
Casey James already has a fan base totaling in the millions, thanks to placing third on the latest season of 'American Idol.' And now a move to Music City is sure to expand that fan base to the country world.
", Country music is a big wide open space for you to do what you want to do if you're within a certain realm," he tells Yahoo. "That will allow me to do what I want to do, if I go to Nashville. They are going to let me play the guitar, they're going to let me be edgy and rocky and a little bit bluesy, a little bit old school, a little bit new school. And my country roots -- I was born and raised listening to Merle Haggard and George Jones -- all of that wrapped up into one big ball is who I am musically, and I'm not going to be able to do that anywhere else. So that's what I'm hoping for."
Casey would not be alone in using 'Idol' as a launching pad for a career in country music. Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Danny Gokey, Josh Gracin, Bucky Covington and Phil Stacey all appeared on the hit TV show before beginning their careers. Fellow Season 9 contestant Aaron Kelly also says he hopes to establish himself as a country act, thanks in part to being inspired by his favorite group -- and frequent 'AI' guests -- Rascal Flatts.
Casey can be found this summer on the American Idols Live tour
Randy Owen, lead singer of Alabama, told attendees at his annual fan club party in Ft. Payne, Alabama last week that earlier this year he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
During a recent checkup, Dr. Woody Fritz in Birmingham, Alabama, noticed an elevated level of a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) in a routine blood test. He referred Owen to Dr. Ronald Wheeler, M.D., a world expert in High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) and medical director of the Diagnostic Center for Disease in Sarasota, Florida. Randy chose the HIFU procedure as his form of cancer treatment which was
performed by Dr. Wheeler the beginning of May and has been deemed a complete success.
After my routine six-month physical, I was referred by Dr. Fritz to Dr. Wheeler, and I feel very good and positive about my future, said Owen. I look forward to seeing the fans and doing what I do.
Randy did everything right by having his PSA checked regularly, avoiding random biopsy, and educating himself about his treatment options, said Dr. Wheeler. He has set an example all men should follow to beat prostate cancer and live an excellent quality of life.
Dr. Fritz went on to say, we are happy with the successful outcome of the treatment. Randy is doing great and is just about fully recovered.
Randy will be tending to his cattle business in Ft. Payne, Alabama through the summer and is planning on resuming touring in mid-September. To find our more details or send Randy your well wishes visit: www.RandyOwen.com
Jewel shows off her smokin' bikini body on the cover of Shape magazine. Inside she says, "We should be more like men, God bless 'em. They can take their shirts off and show their man boobs, and they don't give a hoot. But women are so critical of themselves." The magazine hits the stands on Monday
Trisha Yearwood will appear with Paula Deen on the Food Network's Paula's Best Dishes on June 26th. The Georgia girls met in Nashville during last week's CMA Music Festival to distribute a truckload of country hams to the local food bank. They even hammed it up for Nashville's WKRN TV by tossing around an actual pigskin.
On October 9th, Trisha will take part in the Food Network's New York City Wine and Food Festival.
Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart finally tied the knot Tuesday. The couple, who've been together for eight years, were married in the Governor's mansion in Santa Fe, New Mexico by Governor Bill Richardson.

Others who made the list include Luke Bryan, Chuck Wicks, Jake Owen, Keith Urban, George Strait, Brad Paisley and Kenny Chesney. People Country hits newsstands on Friday
Blake Shelton will release his second "six-pack" album on August 10th. Backstage at the CMA Music Festival, he said that "It's All About Tonight" is the first single from the project -- which means that, unlike Hillbilly Bone, this abbreviated album will have a follow-up single.
Tim McGraw will perform at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas on September 10th -- the night before the kick-off of the NFL season. It's is a part of the city's ramp-up for the Super Bowl, which will be held in the Big D. The 45 Countdown Live From Cowboys Stadium will also include a tribute to Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith and a celebration of the Cowboys' 50th anniversary.
Country legend Jimmy Dean, who died Sunday at age 81, will be laid to rest in a $350,000 piano-shaped granite mausoleum that he purchased several years ago. The 9½-foot long tomb is located near the banks of the James River on his property in Varina, Va. In a reference to the lyrics of his 1961 hit, "Big Bad John," the mausoleum will be inscribed with the epitaph, "Here lies one hell of a man." Taylor Swift may be dealing with a case of writer's cramp, after spending almost 15 hours signing autographs for her devoted fans Sunday during the CMA Music Fest. "I'm hearing so many amazing stories from people," Taylor gushed to Nashville's Tennessean newspaper. "And I'm seeing a lot of tattoos -- not like biker tattoos, but girls with little ankle tattoos that say 'Fearless.'"
Greeting more than 2000 fans, Taylor smiled, posed and hugged each person, breaking only to perform a short acoustic set. Fans were also kept entertained with displays of costumes and other memorabilia from the singer's sold-out Fearless world tour

Toby Keith has endured a stormy month. During his recent USO tour of the Middle East, he was caught in a sandstorm and had to spe, , nd the night in tent city at a forward operating base. And during the floods in Nashville, he lost almost all of his touring gear and set. Soon after that came the tornadoes in his hometown in Oklahoma. Toby tells NewsOK.com, "Well, we've had a bad month, but...we're fortunate. You can't do anything about the will of God."
Brad Paisley kicked off his H2O Tour last weekend with more than 42,000 fans in attendance. At the tour's first stop in Virginia Beach, he told the crowd, "It took perseverance to get here tonight. Every member of my team made this a reality and I am so proud of them." Brad was referring, of course, to the floods in Nashville that destroyed his tour set.
On Saturday in Bristow, Virginia, fans braved the rain to play on the muddy Slip and Slide on the tour's Water World Plaza. Brad remarked on Twitter, "You know you're a redneck when there's more mud on you than on your truck."
Crystal Bowersox sings against Lee DeWyze for the last time on tonight's American Idol. They'll each do three songs, one of their own choosing and two tunes that were picked by the show.
Last week, a coin toss gave Crystal a choice on performance order, and she chose to go on second. People reports that Paula Abdul will make an appearance on Wednesday's finale.
The final three stars competed in a redemption dance and a freestyle round on last night's Dancing With the Stars...
Erin Andrews and Maks were first up with samba. We had some dance tips from the judges. Bruno showed Erin how to shake her hips. Bruno praised her butt work during the dance. They followed with a contemporary routine that Bruno called "psycho drama." The team ended the night with a total score of 55.
Evan Lysacek and Anna first did a Viennese waltz. Len schooled Evan on how to focus on Anna. Carrie Ann said their dance was a beautiful and an emotional dream. They followed with a hard-rocking freestyle routine that Bruno found a bit demented. Their final tally was 52.
Nicole Sherzinger and Derek first performed a rumba. Carrie Ann advised Nicole to let herself go. Len said their dance had a lack of confidence. They closed the night with a red-hot, audience-rousing freestyle that Carrie Ann called they dance they've been waiting for. They got a combined score of 55.
Tonight, the mirror-ball trophy will land in the hands of one of these three finalists
On last night's series finale of 24...
We wrapped up a bunch of storylines and left things open for a future feature film.
The ever-unconsummated relationship between "Chloe" (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and "Jack" (Kiefer Sutherland) took center stage. Jack gave Chloe a card with data showing that something was fishy with a pending peace accord with a fictional Islamic government. Then Chloe shot Jack -- he begged her to -- it's complicated. Then Chloe got caught for aiding Jack's rogue mission.
Nasty former "President Logan" (Gregory Itzin) got the data and made a plan to squash Jack, ambushing Jack's ambulance and dragging him to a remote parking lot. The CTU gang found Jack with a surveillance drone. "President Taylor" (Cherry Jones) ordered a stay in Jack's execution -- and gave Jack a head start to escape the law. Chloe watched via surveillance video as Jack went off, saying "shut it down" as we faded to the last few ticking seconds on the show's famous clock
Jack Ingram has tried out his new single, "Barbie Doll," on all kinds of crowds, but on the Country Throwdown Tour, he's found the perfect audience. He says, "There's no better place to play 'Barbie Doll' than during a hot afternoon festival, with the beer flowing, the girls singing along, and the guys commiserating with me!" The tour has a couple of days off before resuming Thursday night in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Chuck Wicks is busy finishing up his next album and promoting his new single, "Hold That Thought," so he relies on his puppy for a little four-legged therapy. On his My Space page he writes, "Cooper keeps me sane! I gotta admit she's the girl in my life right now! She's a good cuddler, needs to work on the morning breath a little bit though!" No release date has been announced for the new project.

With just three hopefuls left on American Idol, Casey James, Crystal Bowersox and Crystal Bowersox each artist got to do two songs -- one of his or her own choice, and one chosen by the judges. Last night also marked the annual tradition of sending the final three for some adulation from their hometowns.
The first round was the artists' choice...
Casey's did "O.K., It's Alright With Me" by Eric Hutchinson. Randy said, "That song was just kinda all right with me too." Simon agreed, adding, "I would compare that first song to, if you're having dinner, that's the salad."
Crystal played both guitar and harmonica for her choice, "Come to My Window" by Melissa Etheridge. Ellen said, "Melissa would be very proud of you." Simon added, "What I like about you is that...you haven't compromised yourself as an artist."
Lee performed "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Randy gushed, "Somebody here's feeling like they could win this!" And Kara got straight to the point. "Round one goes to Lee.
Then came the judges' song choices.
Randy and Kara picked John Mayer's ballad "Daughters" for Casey. Ellen called it "beautiful for you," but Simon said it was a "lazy song arrangement."
Ellen chose "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney for Crystal. Randy got loud again. "We got somebody else in it to win it!" Kara added, "You really showed parts of your voice I don't think we've heard."
Simon's choice for Lee was "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen, which brought down the house. Randy called it "unbelievable" and Ellen simply said, "That was stunning." Kara went even further, saying, "You just owned the entire night."
Dancing With the Stars said goodbye to Chad Ochocinco in last night's semi-final eliminations. Next week's finals will include a freestyle round.
All the pieces are in place for the final showdown on Lost, which airs Sunday.
Jacob's replacement was finally revealed. Jacob told Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley that one of them had to choose to serve as the island's protector. Jack stepped up and took on the responsibility. His mission is to kill Locke and to protect the light at the center of the island.
The body count rose. After the smoke monster attacked and seemingly killed Richard, Locke promised Ben the island if he'd kill some people for him. Shortly after, Locke killed Charles Widmore's right-hand woman Zoe, and then Ben shot Widmore to death. By episode's end, Locke set out to find Desmond, who was brought back to the island to help destroy it if all else failed.
In the alternate reality, the Losties drew closer together. Desmond got himself locked up with Kate and Sayid after he beat the crap out of Ben. With the aid of Hurley, Desmond broke Kate and Sayid out of prison, setting up a reunion with the rest of the castaways

Chris Young makes it two in a row this week as The Man I Want to Be, the title track to his latest album, becomes his second consecutive No.1 single. Young continues to be red-hot on the radio, as The Man I Want to Be finds his name atop Billboards Hot Country Songs chart twice in a mere seven months, following the smash success of Gettin You Home this past October.
With the news, Young shared, I was excited when I got my first #1, but having two back-to-back like this is mind-blowing. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, and Im so glad that country radio has loved it as much as I do. Its just an amazing feeling looking at the top of the chart and seeing my name.
Beyond the airplay excitement, Chris has also been in-demand on the concert trail. After opening a pair of dates on Miranda Lamberts Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour this past weekend, Young will be back on the road with Alan Jackson, as Jacksons Freight Train Tour powers-up again this Thursday, May 13, with dates running through May 23. Chris will then be joining Rascal Flatts from June 25 through September 19, opening the first leg of their JC Penney Presents Rascal Flatts Nothing Like This Tour

Miranda Lambert's latest single, "The House That Built Me," was originally sent to Blake Shelton to record, but when Miranda heard it, she knew she had to have it. Miranda Lambert loves wearing her NASCAR T-shirt and cheering on her favorites -- Kasey Kahne, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Elliott Sadler. She tells ESPN.com, "For those who don't like the sport, they just need to see a race live. It'll make you a fan."
It looks as though the legendary six-foot circle of wood on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry House has been spared from damage from last week's floods. The circle was cut from the stage of the Ryman Auditorium -- the original home of the Opry -- and built into the stage of the current Opry House. It's on that circle that country music's royalty has performed throughout the course of the radio show's history. People.com reports that the venue will not reopen for several months

The power is back on at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. And, the doors are open to visitors . This is much earlier than expected. They had originally thought power might not be restored until tomorrow morning and the doors would open right then.
The Country Music Hall of Fame didnt suffer the same kind of flooding as some other buildings in Nashville. While it affected the first floor and the floor below, it didnt touch the exhibits which are kept on the upper floors
Nashville continues to mop up after the flood earlier in the week and some of the city's biggest stars are keeping a high profile to make sure the crisis and the recovery remains in the national spotlight. Brad Paisley, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw all appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 last night, telling the show's hosts that they're doing what they can to help out, including participating in benefits and telethons, and in the case of Paisley, taking a phone call from President Obama. Most of all, however, the stars have been impressed by their fellow Nashville residents who have helped out their neighbors to help them get through this difficult time

Brad Paisley's H2O Tour is underwater, another victim of the Nashville flood. With just two weeks before the start of the tour, Paisley's staging, props, amps and most of his guitars -- save for his favorite -- were destroyed in the flooding. Paisley tells the Associated Press, ""I sent a Tweet the other day that basically told people that when they come to the show just know that what you're seeing has been fully tested under water. You're talking about total cred. This is the H2O Tour. This isn't posers acting like we know about it. We've done it, buddy."
Paisley is one of about 1,000 musicians who had gear at Soundcheck Nashville. Vince Gill is reportedly one of the musicians who suffered the greatest losses with most of his guitar collection, including one-of-a-kind vintage instruments, believed to be destroyed in the flood.
Jake Owen helped out the residents of Bellevue -- a Nashville neighborhood that was hit hard by the floods, by handing out hamburgers and hotdogs to those struggling with the loss of their homes. Jake writes on Twitter, "I've never seen anything like this. Please keep these folks in your thoughts
Nashville and the surrounding middle Tennessee communities have been devastated by floodwaters after the area received 15 inches of rain within a 48-hour time period. Thousands of middle Tennesseans have been evacuated from their homes with many losing everything to the flood. Many of the victims do not have flood insurance, and the demands on relief agencies are stretched to the limit.

Thank God our neighbors letting us borrow pump. Thx to Franklin police 4 getting us home. Well, it seems like weve been pumping water all night just to keep it from rising. It hasnt gone down any. Not sure of next step. Pool guy says theres MORE water in the house then in the pool. Trying to get to it, cutting through wall to try and pump out.

Chris Young didn't want any more ballads for his album The Man I Want to Be, and he told his writing team that when they brought him the song that turned out to be the title track. He tells us, "I got through the first chorus and I was like, 'If I don't cut this I'm an idiot.' So I went back in there and was like, 'Everyone is right. We're going to cut this song.'" It's a good thing -- what else would he have called the album?
