Rob “Chef” Cook
It’s the Weekend! I’m Rob Cook, nicknamed “Chef” at a previous gig. I joined the KIIM-FM team in 2014 and love it here. I like all kinds of Country, from Tanya Tucker to Maddie & Tae! I am a outdoors guy, love the mountains, hiking, and am a sports nut. I love football, basketball, soccer, baseball, bike riding…
I like to take part in Tucson events, Meet Me at Maynard’s (Mondays evening’s) and Meet Me Wednesdays at St. Phillip’s Plaza, (Campbell & River) – they are free social walk/runs every week! It led to me start running. I am now a member of the Southern Arizona Roadrunners. That being said, I am a beginning runner; sometimes just after I start a run I want to stop and walk… like right away. Still working on the “why the heck am I running” part!
I grew up in Tucson (Santa Rita H.S. Grad, Go Eagles) and I attended both The University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. (Broadcasting degree from NAU) Love the UA Wildcats and the NAU Lumberjacks, but not a fan of them facing each other. But will be at the games when they do!
Once I had my 3 favorite songs featured on the KIIM Country Cafe back in 1993. On my menu that day was SKO-(Thom Schuyler, Fred Knobloch and Paul Overstreet) “You Can’t Stop Love”, Clint Black -“Better Man”, & Restless Heart – “Why does it have to be Wrong or Right” Well, it was 1993! Got the audio right here!
