Women Artists of the West Celebrate 50th Year – Settlers West Gallery

Women Artists of the West Celebrate 50th  Year: National Juried Exhibition & Sale

Women Artists of the West (WAOW) celebrate their 50th Jubilee Anniversary throughout 2020.    Their flagship fine art exhibition hosted by the  Settlers West Gallery, 6420 N. Campbell Avenue, Tucson, AZ 85718 will kick off the season.  The show will open with an invitational gala reception  March 27, 2020 and will hang until April 17, 2020.

Women Artists of the West, a non-profit group, is the oldest women’s fine art juried organization in the country and exclusively features only women painters and sculptors.  Four women, in response to being shuttered from a traditional world of western art, formed this group to reach out to women in the arts, provide a network of support and to compete unhindered in galleries and shows.  From this humble beginning, over 300 national and international members now proudly represent this diverse and  award-winning group.

Though these talented artists come from all walks of life and work in multiple mediums, their hallmark is unmistakable; they are makers of  fine art at the highest caliber.  From arenas to now, one of the nation’s most prestigious art galleries.

Settlers West  Gallery is widely regarded as one of the Southwest’s premier fine art galleries.  This gallery  showcases the finest in western and wildlife art and has been the host to many of the world’s premier artists through its 46-year history.  Gallery Hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5p.m.  WAOW are honored and proud to be counted among those artists.

In June, WAOW will continue their 50th celebration with “WAOWing the Wind River Valley”, an all member exhibition at the Headwaters Art & Conference Center in Dubois, Wyoming.  This Exhibition and Sale are a celebration of and for all members of WAOW.  The variety of subject matter and art mediums in the show will be as varied as the women themselves.
