Carrie Underwood will once again perform a revamped version of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” the opening anthem for the new season of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. This marks the country music superstar’s 13th consecutive year singing the iconic theme song, which she first recorded in 2013. Underwood’s rendition will debut during the 2025 NFL season opener on September 4, featuring a fresh recording made during her recent Las Vegas residency. “We had a blast shooting the new opening at The Resorts World Theatre again,” Underwood said. “As always, Tripp [Dixon, SNF creative director] and the creative team continue to raise the bar, bringing the high energy and stunning visuals that the Sunday Night Football audience has come to expect year after year. I can’t wait for the world to see it!” Underwood recently completed her first season as a judge on American Idol, alongside fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. (Billboard)
